Ribbon Edge Cardigan

ribbon edge cardigan, originally uploaded by cmeknit.

Another knit on the needles! Can you even believe it!

Shifting sands is progressing just fine. I am almost half way there, and I am afraid that update photos won't be too exciting...so I started a second project. Also...I am getting some serious pain in my right thumb...could it be the cabling? Not to sure on this...but since I have put it down and started this new project, the pain is gone...hmmmmm.

A baby is expected in the fall for a friend...and I have this lovely Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in yellow...so why not knit a baby sweater?

The pattern is from Special Knits and I am pretty sure it is called a ribbon edge cardigan (books not infront of me). I don't know if I will be using a ribbon edge, but I thought the stitch pattern was nice! This should be a very quick knit. Look for a finished project by next week...

Shifting Sands

shifting sands, originally uploaded by cmeknit.

Yes, this project name is fitting for my life right now...but that is not the reason I am knitting it;)

I have loved the pattern since grumperina knit it for her father. Simple, yet beautiful. It is the perfect project to "start again" with.

I had used a smaller needle to start but the fabric was too tight. So I think I am using addi #6 (it would help if I could locate either of the two needle sizers that I own). I am using up the stash...some knitpicks merino style that I ordered last year for christmas knitting...which is just fine because they way that I am knitting now, this could very well turn out to be a christmas gift!

So here I am, a born-again-knitter. Back at it...I've knit an entire ball! Look out!
Have patience as I try to figure out how to blog again...I can't remember passwords and can't get on my photo site...so I am using flickr for now.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...I've added a picture to the last post.

Hello again.

Moe in Urban Aran, originally uploaded by cmeknit.

When last we met, I had knit some monkeys.
I delivered those monkeys to my sister Moe in C.T.
Those monkeys were knit for her two boys.
She wanted something that they could hug at night when they were scared, when she was too sick, when she wasn't there.
That was quite and order to fill....but I did it and she loved them.
We stayed for a couple days. Planned a big birthday party for her hubby...had some laughs...helped her with some cleaning...watched the bravest person I have ever known battle each day with dignity and grace.
My visit was too short. I needed more time.

She left peacefully May 24th.

As expected as this was...I really miss her.

I haven't successfully knit a thing since.
There has been some attempts...a lot of gauge problems...I just didn't want to deal with.
The passion to knit seemed to have left...for a while...but I am still trying.

I actually have something on the needles...and it is working out.
Give me a day and I'll have some pictures for you;)

Sorry for the silence.
I'm coming back...
